Morning Coffee with Jessica Holler
Go to motivation statement:

Community Spotlight: Holler Insurance Agency
Protecting Seniors Starts with Understanding
At Start Smart Plus, we believe in honoring local businesses that truly serve the community.
It first glance, insurance may not seem directly connected to senior care, but honestly, it sits right in the middle lane, especially during August and September when healthcare plans renew and many seniors are trying to understand if their coverage still fits their needs.
Originally, I sat down with Jessica Holler from Holler Insurance Agency hoping to introduce SSP and explore ways we could work together. But after one cup of coffee, I quickly realized Jessica cared just as deeply about seniors and families as I do.
As we shared stories about fraud and confusion in the healthcare system, Jessica talked about the growing number of calls she receives from seniors being pressured into switching healthcare plans or being lured into scams pretending to offer “better coverage.”
The scams are becoming harder to detect. Seniors are receiving calls that sound legitimate, promising lower costs or better benefits, when they may be putting personal information and healthcare coverage at risk.
SSP’s Advice:
Before making changes to your healthcare plan, call a trusted professional.
Contact Holler Insurance Agency:
To ensure your plan truly fits your needs
If you think you may be speaking to a scammer
To better understand Medicare and available options
But beyond insurance, what stood out most to me was Jessica’s heart for helping people.
From my early writing days, I always loved interviewing people who genuinely care about others. And yes I’m an Oprah fan at heart.
I hope you enjoy getting to know Jessica as much as I did.

Name: Jessica Holler
Company: Holler Insurance Agency
How long have you been in business?
3 years
What is your “why” behind your company?
Helping people understand the coverages they need and finding the best rate in this difficult market. I love being able to save people money!
What problem or need does your business solve?
Many customers either don’t have proper insurance coverage or are paying too much. I help solve both of those issues.
Running a business today can be challenging — what keeps you going?
Running a business definitely has challenges, but I stay motivated by helping both existing and new customers with their insurance needs. It’s a great feeling knowing I helped someone get into a new car, new home, open a business, save money, or find great health insurance. The list goes on and on.
As a woman-owned business, I also love helping other women with their insurance needs. It creates a special bond.
What’s your go-to drink when you need to reset or regroup?
Diet Coke and coffee!
At SSP, I often tell families:
“Give yourself grace and give others grace too — Rome wasn’t built in a day.”
What is a phrase or message you share with clients when helping them through challenges?
“One quote I love is: ‘Focus on the solution and not the problem.’”
So many times, customers come to me stressed, upset, and confused. But there is always a solution to every problem and that’s my job, finding that solution. That’s the biggest reward in what I do.
Thank you, Jessica!
And I must agree with the coffee. I can’t miss a day, cold or hot.
If you have questions or concerns, or maybe just want to share your favorite coffee spot in Erie or Niagara County, please give Jessica a call.

Insurance is just one of many pieces’ seniors and caregivers struggle with daily.
I was in a meeting this morning for Live Well Erie, and the buzzword around the table was affordability. One key topic that kept coming up was healthcare deductibles and the growing need for programs that help seniors manage those costs.
So please know, you are not alone.
Reach out. Raise your hand. Ask the question.
What’s the worst thing that could happen?
The answer could be “no.”
But suffering in silence without asking for help costs far more.
Stay Inspired,
Shonda
