Community Spotlight: MyLera

Creating Healthy Habits Through Technology & Wellness

There’s something exciting about businesses that are trying to change how people think about their health and MyLera is doing exactly that. I remember the first day I met Cletis Earle. He walked me through the MyLera app and shared the deeper mission behind the company. The vision is ambitious, but achievable: helping people put their health first before a crisis forces them to.

And honestly… that’s something many of us struggle with.

Life gets busy:

  • Work

  • Raising children

  • Caring for aging parents

  • Running a household

  • Community activities

  • Supporting everyone else before ourselves

Somewhere in the middle of all of that, our own health often falls to the bottom of the list.

We all know we should:

  • Eat healthier

  • Drink more water

  • Sleep better

  • Move more

But knowing and consistently doing are two very different things. That’s where MyLera stands out. The platform combines data from smart watches, phones, fitness trackers, rings, and other wearable technology into one easy-to-use wellness app. Their wellness companion, “Maya,” encourages users to stay engaged, build healthy habits, and stay accountable in a fun and supportive way. Users can even earn rewards through wellness participation and challenges.

As someone deeply involved in caregiver support through Start Smart Plus, I immediately saw the value. Caregivers spend so much time focused on everyone else that they often neglect themselves physically, emotionally, and mentally. ‍

Sometimes people simply need a reminder:
Your health matters too.

That’s why I was excited to explore ways SSP and MyLera could work together.

Featuring Cletis Earle, CEO of MyLera

How long have you been in business?

MyLera was founded in 2024 with a mission to help individuals and families live healthier lives through wellness engagement, education, wearable technology integration, and AI-guided support.

What is your “why” behind your company?

“After spending decades as a healthcare CIO and executive leader working inside hospitals and health systems, I saw firsthand how much of healthcare focuses on treating illness after it happens. I wanted to help build something that empowers people before they reach a crisis point.

MyLera was created to encourage healthier lifestyles, provide wellness guidance, and help families feel more informed, supported, and connected throughout their health journey.”

What problem does MyLera solve?

“MyLera helps bridge the gap between everyday wellness and long-term health outcomes.

Many people struggle with staying motivated, understanding health risks, or navigating wellness resources. Through wearable device integration, wellness challenges, educational content, and AI-supported guidance, we help individuals make healthier decisions while also helping families stay engaged in preventive care and overall well-being.”

Running a business today is challenging. What keeps you going?

“What keeps me going is knowing that even small lifestyle changes can completely change someone’s future.

Every conversation with a family caregiver, patient, or wellness participant reminds me why this work matters. We also believe deeply in collaboration, which is why working alongside organizations like Start Smart Plus has been meaningful.

Together, we share a common mission of helping people feel supported, informed, and cared for during some of the most important moments in their lives.”

What’s your go-to drink when you need to regroup?

“A good cup of coffee usually helps me reset and refocus — especially during long strategy sessions or late nights working on new wellness initiatives.”

What message do you often share with clients during difficult moments?

“Progress matters more than perfection. Small healthy decisions made consistently can change the course of a person’s life.”

Healthcare and wellness journeys can feel overwhelming, especially for caregivers balancing so many responsibilities. Sometimes people simply need encouragement to take the next step forward.

Final Question: What words do you live by?

“Lead with purpose, serve with compassion, and never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of others.”

A Story That Reflects the Mission

One of the things that stood out most during our conversations was how aligned MyLera and Start Smart Plus are in our missions around compassion, wellness, and family support.

We both understand that health is not just about medicine.
It’s also about:

  • Education

  • Routine

  • Accountability

  • Encouragement

  • Human connection

During one conversation, a caregiver shared how overwhelmed they felt trying to care for an aging parent while still balancing work, family responsibilities, and their own health.

That conversation reinforced something important:

  • Sometimes families don’t just need resources.

  • Sometimes they need reassurance that they are not alone.

Partnerships like the one between MyLera and SSP matter because together we are helping families stay informed, proactive, healthier, and more connected through every stage of life.
